Surface cracks allow even more moisture to escape and damage skin produces less Elastin which contributes to wrinkle formation. This prompts cells in the epidermis to release melanin\u00a0which darkens the skin. A lot of exposure results in sunburn\u00a0which causes the release of\u00a0more melanin to protect the skin\u00a0and leads to sun spots and freckles.<\/div>\n<div class=\"caption-line-time\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"caption-line-time\">Using the wrong kinds of\u00a0soaps can\u00a0also age skin by stripping away the thin protective coating called the\u00a0acid mantle. Cigarettes smoke promotes skin cracks and wrinkles\u00a0because it reduces levels of Nitric Oxide,\u00a0a cellular gas that helps keep skin flexible.<\/div>\n<div class=\"caption-line-time\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"cp-28\" class=\"caption-line\" data-time=\"109.56\">\n<div class=\"caption-line-time\">Many women use an exfoliating agent to debride\u00a0or scrape off dead skin cells.
