Hello all supporters,
Thanks for your patience and your support. It is almost the end of the year. Though it is a holiday time, our team is still working tirelessly to bring VioletTM to you. Here are a couple of things we have been working on for the past few months.
(1) RF testing.
To make sure VioletTM is FCC compliant, we are working with a manufacturer and an RF design house to test our RF signal in an acoustic chamber. There were several issues found that were related to the metal casing and the antenna efficiency. With the help of our designing house and our manufacturer application engineers, we will be able to solve these problems to make sure our product is ready for mass production.
(2) Product Samples
To make sure that VioletTM is manufactured with good quality control, consistent look and feel, and reliability, we began building our product samples at our contracted manufacturer’s facility in China. By going through this process, it allows us to test the assembly line procedure, the firmware program and the electrical testing protocol. We have learned so much from this process. However, there are several issues that we are still working on such as the device clip reliability, some minor assembly hiccups and, of course, waterproof testing.
(3) Colors, Colors and more Colors!
We got a lot of feedbacks from our supporters about whether it is possible to make VioletTM in different colors. The answer is yes. Here are some of the colors that we tested with our product samples.
Depending on the feedbacks, we might not have all colors available for the first launch but we try as hard as we can to satisfy our early supporters.

Hi there,
good to hear that you are still working on the product and that your early backers eventuelly might receive the product some time down the road, maybe even for summer 2016.
However focus on a safe and functioning product!
– PLEASE do not focus on fancy stuff such as different colors (!!!) – such fancyness may even cause failure of your startup, because of required additional ressources (time and money). A lot of startup companies had to give up in the end because they could not achieve their initial target because they got lost by trying to perfect unimportant details.

Thanks for the feedback Etienne! Don’t worry, our main goal is to deliver a good quality device. At the same time, we also wanted to work on the aesthetics and user experience. Nowadays, it’s hard to sell an ugly clunky device, especially wearable technology. We can’t wait to have Violet in your hands and have you safely enjoy the sun.
